What we do:
Carbon Check validates project proposals or verifies whether implemented projects have achieved planned greenhouse gas emission reductions. We manage and conduct verification and validation audits and reviews of greenhouse gas emission quantifications and greenhouse gas emission reduction projects
Our international footprint:
We operate on a global level and have conducted audits in Africa, Asia and Latin America. We have local teams based in India, South Africa, Chile and Uganda. Our particular focus is Africa. Our local teams allow us to offer quotations for work on a very competitive basis. We have competitive advantage with regards to the ease of travel to developing and least developed countries (LDC’s) within the African continent, Indian Sub-continent, Latin America and Caribbean Island Nations. We are currently focusing on increasing our footprint in LDC countries.
Carbon Check is accredited by:
UNFCCC Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)
Carbon Check is accredited as a Designated Operational Entity (DOE) for validation and verification activities under United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in sectoral scopes 1 (Energy Industries), 2 (Energy Distribution), 3 (Energy Demand), 4 (Manufacturing Industries), 5 (Chemical Industry), 8 (Mining/Mineral Production), 9 (Metal Production), 10 (Fugitive Emissions from Fuels) , 13 (Waste Handling and Disposal) and 14 (Afforestation and reforestation).
The Gold Standard Foundation
A best practice methodology and a high quality carbon credit label for both Kyoto and voluntary markets. Carbon Check provides the service of certification of renewable energy, energy efficiency; waste management and land use offset projects. Carbon Check verifies and validates projects that demonstrate real, measurable, reportable and permanent GHG reductions and sustainable development.
Verified Carbon Standard (VCS)
VCS is the most widely used greenhouse gas program in the global voluntary carbon market. The VCS Program provides a robust global standard and program for approval of credible voluntary offsets. VCS offsets must be real, additional, measurable, permanent, independently verified and unique. Carbon Check independently verifies and confirm credible voluntary offsets.
Carbon Disclosure Projects and South African Carbon Tax
Carbon Check is also currently involved in the calculations and verifications for Carbon Disclosure Projects (CDP) and providing input for the impending South African Carbon Tax Policy in line with ISO 14064 (Part 3).
Californian Air Resource Board (CARB)
As of the 31 July 2013 Carbon Check is an ARB-Accredited Offset Verification Body and Offset Verifiers. The California’s greenhouse gas (GHG) cap-and-trade program is a central element of California's Global Warming Solutions Act (AB 32) and covers major sources of GHG emissions in the State such as refineries, power plants, industrial facilities, and transportation fuels. Carbon Check may conduct the required third-party verification of all GHG emission reductions or removal enhancements before any ARB offset credits may be issued. Only ARB-accredited offset verification bodies and offset verifiers may provide offset verification services under the Compliance Offset Program. Carbon Check has multiple ARB-approved Lead Verifiers and Verifiers for both the U.S. Forest Protocol and Urban Forest Protocol and Livestock. A standard to certify voluntary emission reduction projects for their contributions to sustainable development. Carbon Check are accredited to Social carbon standard and have already submitted projects with successful validations.

Climate, Community & Biodiversity (CCB) Standards
The CCB Standards identify land management projects that deliver net positive benefits for climate change mitigation, for local communities and for biodiversity. The CCB Standards can be applied to any land management project, including projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation and forest degradation or from avoided degradation of other ecosystems, and projects that remove carbon dioxide by sequestering carbon (e.g., reforestation, afforestation, revegetation, forest restoration, agroforestry and sustainable agriculture) or other land management, from design through implementation and monitoring. Carbon Check is an approved auditor under CCBS Program and is eligible to take Validation and Verification of CCBS Projects.
